Ulrich Hommel, Managing Director of XOLAS, has contributed a chapter to the edited volume Digital Transformation and Disruption in Higher Education, published by Cambridge University Press (April 2022). Editor is Andreas Kaplan of ESCP and co-author is Kai Peters of Coventry University. The chapter is titled “Shared Learning in Higher Education”.

The chapter makes the argument that the provision of management education will become more network (or even ecosystem) based. The driving forces to make this happen are the rapid adoption of micro-credentialing, the growing acceptance of stackable qualifications, the recognition of prior learning (often mandated by governments), which then culminates to the emergence of shared learning models.
